Terms and Conditions

 

Please see below terms and conditions relating to Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats (The Sanctuary) including terms of entry, experiences and event booking. Please note that individual events and purchases may have additional terms and conditions, so you should also check the relevant pages.

Booking / Tickets

 

·        Booking are for Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats, Wierton Park, Wierton Road, Boughton Monchelsea, Maidstone, Kent, ME17 4JW.

·        General admission by donation-suggested donation of £5 per person.

·        Bookings of events and experiences are subject to availability.

·        We reserve the right to request proof of age to ensure that the correct ticket has been purchased.

·        Payments for bookings are non-refundable.

·        Tickets are transferable to another date up to 48 hours in advance. Please send us an email at enquiries@buttercups.org.uk to do so, or if you booked online and created an account you can do this yourself by logging in to your account.

·        Discount codes for bookings can be discontinued at any time.

·        Unfortunately, we are unable to allow admittance to children under the age of 16 years without an accompanying adult. Children under 16 must be supervised by an adult at all times inside the park.

·        Our tickets for events and experiences are not available for resale and we do not accept tickets bought via a third party unless arranged and approved in writing by a member of senior management.

 

Terms of Entry

Entry to the Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats site, including free and paid-entry areas are subject to the Terms and Conditions of Entry below.

·        Full clothing must be worn at all times.

·        Appropriate footwear with grips is recommended at all times whilst visiting the park.

·        Smoking is not permitted on site unless in designated smoking areas.

·        You are not allowed to leave your pet in the car unless accompanied by a responsible adult. This applies at any time of year and weather conditions. Anyone found with a pet in their car will be asked to leave, without refund being made.

·        Cars are parked at their owners own risk and The Sanctuary cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to vehicles, their contents or persons.

·        Children aged 16 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times.

·        Bicycles, scooters, children’s cars, skate boards, rollerblades, or roller skates are not permitted onsite.

·        The Sanctuary cannot be held responsible for loss or damage to visitors possessions inside the farm site or in the car park.

·        Photography for commercial use is not permitted without the expressed permission of The Sanctuary.

·        The Sanctuary operates a complete zero tolerance policy and will not tolerate physical or verbal threats towards its staff and/or volunteers. Any visitors behaving inappropriately will be denied access to, or told to leave immediately, without refund being made.

·        The Sanctuary will not tolerate any breach of safety such as entering non-public zones, staff only areas or breaching enclosure fences or boundaries and operate a complete zero tolerance policy.

·        The Sanctuary reserves the right to close any or all parts of the park as necessary. Tours and talks can be temporarily withdrawn without notice due to animal sickness, inclement weather, power failure or for any other reasons. Refunds cannot be offered under these circumstances.

 

Non adherence of terms and conditions of entry will result in being told to leave immediately without any refund being given.

Animal Experiences Availability

All Animal Experiences are available most days apart from Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Please book well in advance to ensure we can fulfil your preferred date.

Please advise at time of booking if anyone taking part has additional requirements including a disability, pregnancy, diet or immunosuppression which may require an encounter to be varied or changed.

The Sanctuary does not allow pregnant women to take part in an Animal Experience without first seeking advice from their doctor.

All participants under the age of 18yrs must be supervised by a responsible adult over the age of 18yrs throughout their Animal Experience.

We are committed to safeguarding and the protection of children whilst they enjoy their visit around Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats. As part of The Sanctuary’s safeguarding policy towards children and other groups considered vulnerable, The Sanctuary as the employer, along with our employees, make a commitment to safeguarding young people’s welfare. We fully support the current government policy in their goal to protect vulnerable people; to
prevent physical, sexual or emotional abuse. As employers, we do not believe our close encounters are deemed a regulated activity as governed by the Secretary of State’s statutory guidance on supervision of activity by workers with children. Despite this, Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats does request that all children under the age of 16 are supervised whilst undertaking close encounters, as part of our own Safeguarding Policy ensuring adequate supervision at all times.

The Gift of a Goat Keeper Experience or The Gift of a Goat Encounter Experience voucher will be emailed to you, for you to give to the intended recipient.

 

All experiences must still be booked in advance online. When the recipient of the gift would like to book in their experience, they must add their chosen experience to the basket with an intended date and then enter the gift voucher code provided to clear the balance.

All experience gifts or vouchers are valid for 12 months.

Cancellations and Changes

Payment will be taken when you make your booking.

All Animal Experiences are non-refundable. They are non-transferable unless due to exceptional circumstances including illness/injury, pregnancy, bereavement or jury service – this is at The Sanctuary’s discretion and evidence may be requested. Refunds can only be made to the purchaser. If a refund is agreed, a £10 (Inc. VAT) processing fee will be charged.

Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats reserves the right to reschedule or cancel an Animal Experience at any time if necessary. In this case, you will be offered the opportunity to rebook the experience or opt for a refund.

Annual Membership

Annual membership is for 1 calendar year and starts from the date of purchase.

Membership is valid for the named annual membership holders only and is not transferable.

Membership offers are not valid on special events.

We reserve the right to change our opening times at any point without warning. Please check our website for up to date times.

Vouchers

·        Please print the voucher to use when visiting us.

·        The voucher cannot be exchanged or refunded for cash.

·        Where the face value of the voucher is not used in full, no change will be given.

·        Cash value is 0.000001p.

·        Vouchers can be used towards the value of goods at the higher price that is face value upon payment of the difference.

·        The Sanctuary is under no liability to replace vouchers that are lost, stolen, damaged or destroyed whether they have been redeemed or not.

·        Vouchers re-sold or transferred for profit or commercial gain will be void.

·        Vouchers are redeemable only at Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats.

·        Valid for 12 months from date of purchase unless otherwise stated on the booking.

Fees

The prices of The Sanctuary’s events, products and services are as quoted on our website, menus, in the Events Brochures and/or as confirmed by the Events Team.

The Sanctuary reserves the right to amend our listed prices without prior notice, although this will not affect a confirmed booking.

Prices are typically quoted inclusive of VAT, at the prevailing rate, unless quoting for a business or corporate customer.

Confirmation of requirements

Final guest numbers and requirements for your event must reach the Events Team no later than 14 days before a function event.

Whilst The Sanctuary appreciates that the number of guests can change, the full number of confirmed attendees will be charged at full price, even if the number of guests reduces after the 14-day watershed. If the number of attendees increases, please make the Events Team aware by emailing enquiries@buttercups.org.uk and they will do their best to accommodate.

The Sanctuary cannot guarantee any amendments on the day of the event. If there are any last-minute changes, please consult a member of the Events Team who will endeavor to accommodate your request.

Payments

Full payment is required to secure a booking and you will receive an email confirmation with your tickets.

Failure to pay within these terms, may result in all your future events at Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats being cancelled; foregoing any deposits and may incur interest at 3% over the Bank of England base rate, at The Sanctuary’s discretion.

Cancellation policy

Unfortunately, we cannot issue any refunds for cancellations.

For ticketed events, it is occasionally possible to transfer the ticket to another subsequent event although only with notice two or more days prior to the event date and with specific confirmation from the Events Team.

In the event of The Sanctuary cancelling the booking date, an alternative date will be provided, or any money already paid by the customer will be refunded in full. This is at The Sanctuary’s discretion.

General terms

All bookings are subject to these terms, which supersede any previous terms.

·        Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats reserves the right to amend terms at any time without notice, although the current terms are available at www.buttercups.org.uk and any amendments to terms governing confirmed bookings will be notified by email.

·        In the event of supply difficulties Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats reserves the right to substitute goods or services of equal quality and value.

·        Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats will not accept any responsibility for any loss, damage, delay or other disruption in supply and deliveries brought about by delayed or incomplete payment.

·        In the unlikely event of a power cut, we will take reasonable steps to ensure power is restored with minimal disruption. Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats Park will not issue refunds and reserves the right to close due to health and safety.

·        We may take and use photographs or video footage of events at the Sanctuay, to be used for social media and marketing purposes, if you do not wish your image to be used, please let us know.

·        All food allergies and intolerances must be communicated to Buttercups Sanctuary for Goats in writing. We will endeavor to fulfil dietary requirements but there may be circumstances where this is not possible (by process of our risk assessments) to guarantee no cross contamination has occurred.

·        There is parking on site, but The Sanctuary accepts no responsibility for damages or losses incurred from using our facilities.

·        Guest’s vehicles cannot be left overnight.
